A ribbon-cutting and grand opening event is scheduled for Monday, June 5 for Ocotes Grill, the new family-owned restaurant at 1439 23rd St. in San Pablo.
The San Pablo Economic Development Corporation produced a Facebook events page for the grand opening, which runs from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
“Join San Pablo EDC as we welcome Ocotes Mexican Grill to the San Pablo community,” the event page says. “Free appetizers will be provided. Bring cash for tips and if you’d like to order additional food.”
The restaurant is owned by the Ledesma family, who have lived in the area since the 1980s. The family plans to serve authentic Mexican food, including freshly-made tortillas, as well as American food, the latter in part to serve nearby Richmond High students.
The restaurant received a city permit to sell beer and wine, though Griselda Ledesma, a longtime loan officer in the community, says the family is primarily focused on good food, service and atmosphere.
