Congressman DeSaulnier calls 'Trumpcare' passage 'shocking, sad'
House Majority Speaker Paul Ryan calls passage of the latest health care bill a victory, but Democrats say it would cost lives.

After the U.S. House of Representatives passed the American Health Care Act (H.R. 1628) by a vote of 217-213 on Thursday — legislation that repeals and replaces the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare — Congressman Mark DeSaulnier, who represents the Richmond area, made this statement:

Congressman DeSaulnier:

“What took place on the floor of the House of Representatives is shocking, sad, and will—with no hyperbole—if passed by the Senate result in people dying. Under Trumpcare, 24 million Americans will be kicked off their health insurance, those living with pre-existing conditions ranging from cancer to autism will witness their premiums skyrocket, seniors will be forced to pay 5 times more for their health care than the average American, and 30 million children will lose critical services by cutting Medicaid, all in the name of massive tax cuts for the wealthy.” said Congressman DeSaulnier.

  1. Many of these same Republicans will show up in church on Sunday as if they are followers of Jesus Christ, after they just voted to eliminate healthcare for the poor and needy so that the wealthy can have yet another fat tax break. Because that was what Jesus did when he walked the earth right Republicans? Conservatives can read the Bible and not see that Jesus was not a conserative. The Sadducees and to a lesser degree the Pharisees were the conservatives, and Jesus used the word “hypocrites” to describe them. The Republicans are truly the Sadducees and Pharisees of our time.Too bad they refuse to see it.
