Asiah Dailey, a track and field star at Kennedy High, has earned a full scholarship to Jackson State University in Mississippi, according to community advocate Rodney Alamo Brown.
This should be no surprise. Dailey has enjoyed impressive results both in the classroom and on the track, with multiple top finishes in events including the 100-meter hurdles, discus, high jump and on relays.
This year, she had the North Coast Section’s fourth-fastest 100m hurdles time of 15.16, the NCS’s 11th best high jump of 5-feet and helped fuel the Eagles’ 4×100 relay team (3rd best in NCS in 2017) and 4×200 relay team (2nd best in NCS).
And the “star is just as impressive in the classroom as she is on the track,” Brown said. “We’re extremely proud of her and all that she has accomplished in her career at Kennedy.”
