Pinole police seek public’s help finding Pizza Hut robber

Pinole police are seeking a suspect who robbed a local Pizza Hut while acting as if he had a gun on Monday.

Police released an image of the suspect connected to the robbery of the Pizza Hut restaurant at 1211 Tara Hills Drive at about 4:20 p.m.

According to Pinole police Sgt. Matt Avery, a restaurant clerk said the man demanded money while keeping his right hand in a bag in a manner suggesting he had a firearm. The suspect then ordered the clerk to lie on the ground, Avery said.

After telling the clerk not to call police for at least 10 minutes after he left, he fled with cash from the register and headed westbound on Tara Hills Drive.

The suspect was described as a black man in his 20s or 30s with a goatee, possibly a beard, standing about six feet tall with a medium build. He wore a dark black or gray hooded zip-up sweatshirt, white sneakers and dark blue or black jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call Pinole police at (510) 724-8950.
