The volunteer-run Food Emporium, Richmond’s very own version of Off the Grid, returns to Hilltop Lake Park for its spring kickoff on Sunday, Apr. 30 from noon to 3 p.m.

The evolving Food Emporium was described by City Manager Bill Lindsay’s newsletter as “bigger and better than ever.”

The April 30 event will include delicious food offerings from local favorites That’s My Dog, Kim’s Louisiana Fried Turkey & Stuff, and Curbside Kitchen.

The free family event includes activities for all ages, such as a jump house, mini car show, live music, and art activities.

“Join us in creating a fun and family-friendly space for residents to come together and check out everything Richmond has to offer,” Lindsay’s newsletter stated.

The Food Emporium is 100-percent volunteer run. Local entertainers, artists, sponsors, vendors and volunteers are encouraged to join the effort to make the event a regular, successful occurrence. To find out how you can get involved, visit the Food Emporium website at www.foodemporium.online.
