Wine wisdom from Richmond’s Riggers Loft
By Zach Chouteau
For the newest edition of the ‘Rich Life’ we headed to end of the Canal Boulevard in Point Richmond to the winery and unique tasting room known as Riggers Loft Wine Company.
While visiting the establishment—home to food truck pub grub and cool events in addition to spirits from three wineries and a cider company—we picked the brain of Kevin Brown, who owns and operates Riggers Loft with wife Barbara. He shared some quick insights on purchasing wine for a dinner party or other social gathering.
Set just across from the historic Red Oak Victory warship, Riggers Loft is home to Trivia Nights, live music and special events like the upcoming Spring Wine Fest set for May 7.
The cavernous venue can also be leased for private affairs ranging from office parties to birthday bashes, and offers some tremendous vistas of the Bay Area from its sweeping windows.
Riggers Loft is located at 1325 Canal Blvd. and its Tasting Room hours are Thursdays & Fridays, 4 to 9 p.m.; Saturdays 1 to 9 p.m.; and Sundays 1 to 6 p.m. You can find out more at www.riggersloftwine.com. “
