Some Richmond mothers are starting a new empowerment group called “The Ambitious Mom,” and the organization’s very first event is scheduled to take place at Nevin Park on Saturday, April 8.
From noon to 3 p.m., the group, which was founded by Carmella Martin, is set to hold a community Easter Lunch at the park located at 510 Macdonald Ave. in Richmond, organizer Roshonda Walker said.
The group’s basic aim is to support and uplift local moms, Walker said. Through collaboration, the group aims to assist one another in “breaking the chains” on whatever might hinder their success.
Donations are welcome to help make the April 8 event a success, Walker said.
“We are in need of chicken, water, juice, rolls, utensils, paper plates, eggs, ground turkey and ground beef,” Walker said.
