Several members of the Oakland Raiders will head to Richmond’s Caliber:Beta Academy on Thursday to hold a junior training camp for students at 10 a.m.
The NFL team annually offers to hold free Gatorade Junior Training Camps at elementary schools, recreation centers and other nonprofits throughout the Bay Area.
A training session lasts an hour and provides a fun and safe environment for kids ages 7-12. The Raiders visit schools from March through December as part of the program.
Community advocate Rodney “Alamo” Brown invited the Raiders to stop by Caliber Schools, located near the Kennedy High campus at 4301 Berk Ave., in an application. Brown will be joined by fellow representatives of Peacemakers Inc. and Soulful Softball Sunday in helping out at the training session Thursday.
