New spacious pizza place opening on Macdonald Avenue

A spacious, family-owned pizza place that will feature a kids play area and plenty of TV screens for sports viewing is slated to open in several weeks at the corner of Macdonald Avenue and 15th Street.

Your Way Pizza, located across the corner from the BART parking garage, also boasts a long, gorgeous wooden counter equipped with electrical outlets for folks wanting to plug in their computers to get work done. And the kids play area will include a TV screen with children’s programming.

“We’re going to be making pizzas, burgers, salads,” said Bryan Rivas, who will run the business along with his brother Eliezer Sergio Francisco Aparicio and their father. “Also, we’ll be adding a bit of Salvadorian cuisine into the menu.”

The business will initially open with a license to serve wine. The family is looking into licenses to expand its alcohol offerings.

The business will also deliver pizzas, and vow to make each pie “Your Way.”

A few final inspections stand in the way of Your Way Pizza’s grand opening, which could take a few weeks. A celebration will be held at that time, Rivas said.

  1. I wish them success. It’s good to see business opening in the old downtown. I can’t help but think that if the redevelopement agency hadn’t torn down nearly every building downtown years ago that they would be full today with grocery stores restaurants and breweries. But what is done is done. Let’s hope the latest project proposed for 12th & Macdonald actually breaks ground someday, and that it is a nice building worthy of a downtown. Too often Richmond settles for cheap ugly development then wonders why it isn’t successful. (Think Macdonald 80) If you want a nice downtown then you actually have to build some nice buildings there.

  2. With redevelopment they need rent control and programs to bring more business to Richmond. There is so much property that can be developed into business parks. Bring in more jobs and money which can support funding for more Police and really change that area.

Plus you have a lot of families moving in, many of which might frequent the Pizza parlor. The city must do everything to make safety their number one priority.
