Richmond police seek this local man in connection with shooting

Richmond police are seeking the public’s help in locating 32-year-old Michael Robinson in connection with a shooting in the 400 block of 24th Street early Thursday.

Police were called to that block about 4 a.m. on a report of a possible shooting. When they arrived they found a female victim who “narrowly escaped being shot,” Richmond police spokesman Lt. Felix Tan said.

Prior to the shooting, Robinson and the female victim were involved in a brief altercation. Robinson at one point left the scene, but he returned minutes later and shot at the female victim a few times with a pistol before fleeing, Tan said.

Robinson stands 5-9, is bald with brown eyes and has a prosthetic leg and walks with a pronounced limp. Police consider him “extremely dangerous.”

There’s a $1.5 million arrest warrant for him for the attempted murder.

Anyone who sees someone matching Robinson’s description, or if you know where he is, call Homicide Detective J. Wentz at (510) 621-1259 or dial 911.
