Square Warriors Entertainment has announced four professional boxing bouts that will be featured at Richmond Memorial Auditorium on April 8.
As reported last month, a highly-anticipated card is expected for Redemption Richmond, where some fast-rising boxers will aim to come back from recent losses. That includes Richmond’s own Luis Garcia (6-1-1 5KOs), who is determined to return victorious following his first loss in a professional bout.
The junior welterweight will fight on the undercard against Julia Bautista (2-2-2 1KO), who just two years ago lost to Bilal Mahasin for the junior welterweight Global Boxing Organization title, according to Inside the Ropes.
The headlining bout will feature featherweight Adam Fiel, who will look to rebound from his January loss to Alberto Torres for the promotional inaugural Square Warriors featherweight title.
A few other Richmond fighters will be featured, including heavyweight Fernando Caro (1-0), who will face Kaz Barney (professional debut). Also, amateur standout Iris Contreras from Richmond is expected to make her pro debut, although an opponent has yet to be named.
Also on the card: Cesar Lomeli (1-0) will battle Chris Washington (pro debut) of Dreamland Boxing Center in San Jose in a junior middleweight bout of unbeaten fighters. Light heavyweight Jasper McCargo (2-0 2KOs) will face Stephen Austin (pro debut).
Cruiserweight Mike Russell (1-0 1KO), super lightweight Lennard Davis (1-0-1), lightweight Willie Shaw (1-0 1KO), Pedro Madriz (0-1) and Dalia Gomez (0-1) are all expected to fight, but have yet to be paired with opponents, according to Inside the Ropes.
