Ladia Yates, the Kennedy High alum who became a celebrity dancer and choreographer, is returning to Richmond next month in order to hold more dance workshops.

Yates is inviting young aspiring dancers to the Hilltop YMCA, 4300 Lakeside Dr., on March 11.

The professional dancer who has choreographed a major music video, wowed judges on So You Think You Can Dance and shared a nationally televised stage with Usher and other stars will hold one workshop for dancers ages 5 through 13 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

She will also hold a workshop for dancers ages 14 and up from 3:45 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The workshops cost $17 or ages 5-13 and $20 for ages 14 and up.

Yates founded the Ladia Yates Entertainment Academy (LYE Academy) in Memphis, Tenn. Last year, she held successful workshops in her home city of Richmond for the first time. She has also launched a singing career.
