Boxing is reportedly scheduled to return to Richmond Memorial Auditorium on April 8, according to promoter Square Vision Entertainment and a news report.
Although matchups for the boxing night have yet to be announced, the card is “likely going to feature Luis Garcia of Richmond, Jasper McCargo of Oakland, Dalia Gomez of Oakland and Willie Shaw of San Francisco,” according to Inside the Ropes.
A lot of fans will be anticipating local hero Garcia’s return to the ring. The emerging Richmond boxer recently lost his first professional bout at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton. At 6-1-1 with 5 knockouts thus far in his career, Garcia has vowed to fix mistakes he made in his only loss and come back even stronger before a hometown crowd.
And so it makes perfect sense that the April 8 boxing night at the Auditorium has been called Redemption Richmond.
“Back in training camp fighting soon,” Garcia declared on Facebook.
