Final week for Richmond's holiday food drive; food barrels at 14 city locations

The city of Richmond’s Holiday Food Drive benefiting the Bay Area Rescue Mission is in its final week.

Residents are encouraged to contribute cans of food and other non-perishables to food barrels located at 14 city locations. The colorful food barrels were decorated by Richmond community members of all ages.

The Community Services Department’s food drive launched Dec. 5 and runs through Friday.

• Booker T. Anderson Community Center, 960 South 47th St

• Community Services Building (Recreation Complex), 3230 MacDonald Ave

• Disabled People’s Recreation Center (DPRC), 1900 Barrett Ave

• May Valley Community Center, 3530 Morningside Dr

• Nevin Community Center, 598 Nevin Ave

• Parchester Community Center, 900 Williams Dr

• Richmond Annex Senior Center, 5801 Huntington Ave

• Richmond City Hall, 450 Civic Center Plaza

• Richmond Plunge, 1 East Richmond Ave

• Richmond Public Library – Bayview Branch, 5100 Hartnett Ave

• Richmond Public Library – West Side Branch, 135 Washington Ave
