The Little Caesars “Love Kitchen” rolled up to the Bay Area Rescue Mission in Richmond on Sunday and fed an estimated 275 people from the homeless services center and also from the surrounding community. It was the second year in a row that the pizza chain’s charitable big-rig equipped with a pizza oven stopped by the Rescue Mission at 224 Macdonald Ave. Lunch was served to everyone who showed up. “We did have a good turn out from our residents at the Rescue Mission,” Rescue Mission spokesman Steve Lee said. “We had a handful attending from the community.” Since 1985, the pizza chain’s “Love Kitchen” program has been serving meals from wheels across the nation and Canada to locations where people are in need, from areas suffering poverty to communities ravaged by hurricanes and tornadoes. Two big rigs equipped with pizza ovens travel year round, with two drivers assigned to each truck. littlecaesers-10-10-1
