Victim of solo vehicle crash on Highway 4 ID’d as 77-year-old Richmond woman

State pledges funds for cameras on highways from Richmond to Antioch

A 77-year-old Richmond woman died Sunday afternoon when her car veered off state Highway 4 near Crockett and struck a tree.

Marion Fay was the victim of the fatal crash reported at 12:49 p.m. in the highway’s eastbound lanes just east of Franklin Canyon Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Fay, the only occupant of the 2009 Honda Civic, was pronounced at the scene.

Officers are investigating what caused the crash, which occurred following a bout of rain.
