The community is mourning the deaths of an 18-year-old and her unborn child following a shooting in San Pablo Monday night.
Police responded to the 1700 block of 17th Street at 7:51 p.m. and found the woman, identified online by loved ones as Nicole Hazel McCoy, lying in the middle of the street. She had been shot and was transported to a hospital, where she later died.
The unborn child also did not survive the attack, police said.
No arrests have been made.
Family, friends and community members have expressed deep sorrow over the deaths.
