Local “girlpreneurs” are encouraged to to apply to take part in a Shark Tank-style competition in San Francisco next month that will feature the TV show’s own Mark Cuban (pictured on left).

Cuban will be joined by Silicon Valley legendary investor Tim Draper and Sue Seigel, one of the world’s most successful women in venture capital, to participate in the competition, which will be held Oct. 15 at the Girls’ Festival at Fort Mason in San Francisco.

Any motivated and creative girls between ages 8 and 18 are encouraged to apply here. The deadline to apply is Oct. 7.

One winner will be chosen among five top finalists at the event. The winning girl or team will receive $2,500 plus a one-on-one business advising session with any of the three judges. Click here for more information.

“Girlpreneur is designed to sprout the spirit of entrepreneurship among girls of all ages by de-mystifying entrepreneurship, inspiring all girls to act on their ideas and dreams and helping girls gain confidence in their abilities and skills,” organizers said.
