Kenneth Walker III, the Kennedy High graduate who was honored last year as a scholar-athlete at UCLA, posted a career-high six catches for 115 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s 31-24 overtime loss to Texas A&M.

Walker led his team in receiving, prompting the Los Angeles Times to write that he “appears to be the Bruins’ top deep threat.”

Nearly half of his 115 yards came on a 62-yard pass late in the fourth quarter. He “caught every ball within reach,” the Times added.

He told the newspaper that his confidence increased over the summer.
