A bicyclist was killed following a collision with a vehicle in San Pablo this morning, police said.

San Pablo police responded about 5:41 a.m. to the area of Giant Road at Parr Boulevard. Despite efforts by medical units, the bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim’s identity wasn’t immediately known.

“Officers are investigating the collision however, driver impairment does not appear to be a factor,” police said in a statement. “The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.”

Giant Road wasn’t expected to be reopened until 10 a.m.
