Richmond homicide victim identified

23rd Street fight turns fatal

The victim of a fatal shooting in Richmond early Wednesday has been identified as 30-year-old Maxim Biswas.

Biswas, of Richmond, along with two others were shot while inside a vehicle at the intersection of Marina Way South and Wright Avenue about 12:20 a.m., police said.

Responding officers found the vehicle stopped at the intersection and the victims inside. Biswas was deceased, while two others were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

A dark-colored sedan left the area after the shooting, witnesses said. No arrests have been announced in connection with the case.

The homicide followed a flurry of violence in the city to start the week. A shooting near Kennedy High Sunday afternoon halted a local youth football event. Another later Sunday evening injured a 27-year-old man. And another Monday evening injured a man and led to a police chase and four arrests.
