The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano is seeking volunteers to help distribute fresh produce to low-income families and individuals in Richmond.

Twice monthly at the Nevin Community Center at 598 Nevin Ave., volunteers help distribute 15 to 20 pounds of free fresh produce to residents in need as part of the Community Produce Program.

Volunteers are needed for these events, which take place the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. Volunteers are asked to help from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., with distribution beginning at 10 a.m.

“We need alot of help at the Nevin site,” an organizer told us.
