The RYSE Youth Center is encouraging the community to donate supplies or money to help flood victims in Louisiana.

The center at 205 41st St. is accepting donations of supplies on Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 pm. See the flier below for the list of items needed, which include mostly toiletries.

Also, monetary donations, which are more direly needed, can be made to Baton Rouge-based Bethany Church, according to Contra Costa County Supervisor John Gioia‘s email newsletter on Tuesday. Gioia’s newsletter called a “trusted site.”

Thirteen people were killed and tens of thousands of homes and businesses were damaged in the flood, according to USA Today.

“Although this tragedy is in another part of our country, we empathize with their loss and share a readiness to help,” Gioia stated in his newsletter.
