Richmond police are seeking the public’s help in solving an Aug. 6 shooting that claimed the life of 19-year-old Kori Mattie, of Oakley (pictured).

Mattie was riding her bicycle to her friend’s house in the North and East neighborhood about 9:20 p.m. when she was gunned down in the area of 24th Street and Nevin Avenue.

Arriving officers found her lying on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. Attempts to revive her were unsuccessful.

The motive for the homicide remains unknown to police. There’s a $10,000 reward for anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect or suspects.

Anyone with information is asked to call Homicide Detective J. Wentz at (510) 621-1259.

“Please help Kori’s family bring closure to this devastating incident,” police said. “Please share this post.”
