A new, growing Richmond nonprofit called New Life Movement is holding a backpack and school supplies giveaway event this Saturday, Aug. 20.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at John F. Kennedy Park at Cutting Boulevard and 41st Avenue in Richmond.

The first 60 kids will receive backpacks and school supplies at the event, which will also include food and music.

New Life Movement, founded by Richmond native Bendrick Foster, aims to promote positive change in urban communities through by enlisting help and encouraging unity among community members. The nonprofit works directly with the most vulnerable Richmond youth to ensure they stay out of trouble.
