Jessica LeeAnn, a Richmond native, has penned a new Christian novel geared toward young adults that has received positive reviews.

The 222-page NOT of This World (After the Storm Publishing) tells the story of Tamar, a church-raised young woman who embarks on a corporate career and lifestyle that soon begins to clash with her faith.

LeeAnn has been writing since high school, starting with poetry and song lyrics. She wrote her first short story in 2009 and has often recited her poetry at Bay Area open mic events.

For five consecutive years, she’s performed poetry at the Ebony Elites annual fundraiser luncheon. She also authors the blog, Jessica LeeAnn Writes, which includes encouraging messages for Christians.

She has self-published four books, including two urban fiction novels — Raven and Cold Hearted Diva — as well as an encouragement book titled Trusting the Process: Encouragement for Single Mothers.  LeeAnn has also authored the collection of contemporary Christian fiction short stories I Love You, But.
