The Richmond Main Street Initiative, the nonprofit spearheading a City Council-approved effort to improve downtown, held yet another successful Music on the Main festival on Wednesday, an event that brings local residents together for an evening of dancing and community bonding.

The free, family friendly event began at about 5 p.m. at Marina Way and Macdonald Avenue.

Along by musical performances by Andre Thierry and American Idol contestant Nicole Turner aka Buttah, locals were treated to fun, healthy activities for the whole family, good food and useful information and resource booths from city organizations, government agencies and businesses.

We were excited to be there in order to document the good times through photos and video. Enjoy!
