Kendrick Barfield, 39, has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of 32-year-old Paul King in North Richmond last month..

Barfield additionally faces a gun enhancement, prosecutors say, following the July 19 fatal shooting in the 200 block of Gertrude Avenue.

Police were called to the scene at 9:45 p.m. and found King, of Richmond, on the street suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. He died at the scene.

Barfield was arrested following an investigation by Richmond police and remains in custody on $5.8 million bail.
