JCPenney is re-entering the major appliance business at its 500 stores nationwide, including its Hilltop Mall location.

The retailer, which has not sold major appliances for more than three decades, began selling them again on Friday. Hilltop Mall posted the above picture from its JC Penney store on Facebook.

The company said a successful three-market pilot aided in its decision to re-enter the major appliance market.

All stores will have between 100 to 215 appliances models on display, including refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers, washers and dryers from great brand names such as Samsung, LG, GE and Hotpoint.

Media are invited to visit one of our San Francisco-area locations this weekend to cover the new major appliance showroom.
