San Pablo residents will have access to a mobile food truck on a weekly basis starting Monday.

As part of a six-month pilot program, Freshest Cargo, a  “farmers’ market on wheels,” will drive to three city location every Monday to offer fresh, locally grown produce.

The Freshest Cargo truck will park at Davis Park in the parking lot on Folsom Avenue and 17th Street from 8:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

It will then move to Wanlass Park at 21st and Rivers streets from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

The final Monday stop is from 12:15 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Kennedy Plaza, Brookside Avenue and 23rd Street.

Officials hope the new weekly service is a success so that it continues after six months.

The new service comes after Pacific Coast Farmers’ Market Association (PCFMA) discontinued its San Pablo Farmers’ Market, which had occurred Saturdays from Spring through Fall in the parking lot of San Pablo City Hall.

The Freshest Cargo mobile truck also serves Richmond and North Richmond residents on Wednesdays. It stops by Rubicon Programs at 101 Broadway from 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; at Richmond Civic Center, 325 Civic Center Plaza, from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. (new stop); and at 1443 Filbert St.
