Two coaches with the East Bay Soldiers Youth Basketball program will return to their home courts with high-end knowledge after participating this week in the USA Basketball Youth Coaches Academy in Las Vegas.

Coaches Broyce Batchan (pictured on left) and Sef Sunia (right) are networking and learning from some of the nation’s best coaches, including those heading college and professional teams, and plan to “come back to Richmond and share their newly acquired skills with our kids,” according to program officials.

Today, the coaches were set to observe the USA Men’s Olympic basketball team practice, Batchan said.

Then on Thursday, five East Bay Soldiers teams will join the coaches in Las Vegas for a tournament that begins Friday at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
