Richmond police interrupt dice game, seize gun and drugs

Known gang members gambled by playing dice on the streets of the Iron Triangle neighborhood earlier this month and lost, after police detectives showed up and found one of them in possession of a gun and drugs, police said Wednesday.

The incident occurred about 5 p.m. on July 13 in the area of –, Richmond police Lt. Felix Tan said.

Detectives in RPD’s Special Investigations Services Gang and Parole Unit detectives were patrolling the area when they came upon a group of men playing dice. The men were “validated gang members,” Tan said.

One of the men was arrested after being found in possession of a loaded gun, packaged cocaine and heroin. He was booked for firearms, drugs and probation violation charges.

  1. Nice work Richmond PD. Nice upswing to make the streets safer for the young innocent children that live in that area and the older citizens who want change but are really afraid.
