Photos: North Richmond Music Festival rocks

Music lovers set up lawn chairs for an afternoon of live bands and entertainment, while kids enjoyed pony rides and a bouncy house, at the 7th Annual North Richmond Music Festival on Saturday at Shields-Reid Park.

And at one point, a number of festival-goers were assembled to dance the “Wobble.” For those who haven’t heard about the dance, see this instructional video.

“People stayed to enjoy the music even with the wind blowing all day,” said one festival-goer.

The event, which included community resource booths and food, paid tribute to recently-passed rock legend Prince, with a special performance by the North Richmond Dancers. Priesthood Nation, Mark St. Mary’s Blues Zydeco, Twice as Good and Fillmore Slim and Bionic Roots were also listed as performing.

Sponsors of the festival included Chevron and Sims Metal Management.
