New North Richmond nursery blooms with job opportunities

UPDATE: All positions have been filled, according to the company, which told us it appreciates the great response it received from the community.

A San Francisco plant wholesaler is making a big move to North Richmond, and is on the lookout for prospective employees to fill a variety of positions.

Sunborne Nursery is hoping to relocate its wholesale plant and succulent nursery to a vacant industrial space located at 2206 Central Street by the end of next January. The company will be looking to hire approximately ten people to fill full-time positions at the new facility, ideally hard-working and plant-loving local individuals.

The company says that the majority of the open positions will be in greenhouse production, completing tasks like shipping and receiving, order preparation, watering and plant maintenance. They are also seeking at least one driver to make deliveries around the Bay Area and another employee to work with their decorative pots. There may also be the need for a few people either in customer service or for other office-related tasks.

Sunborne is looking to fill some of the positions now in order to have fully prepared workers upon the opening of the North Richmond facility, with their need for a driver as the most pressing. They will also need five to ten temporary workers to provide assistance with moving products to the new facility.

Interested residents can reach out to Sunborne’s Eli Goldman at, or find out more about the company on its website.
