For our latest Small Biz Boost segment, Richmond Standard reporter Mike “Raccoon Eyes” Kinney dropped by Andy’s Donut Stop at 971 23rd St. in Richmond.

The former owner, Alberta Heltsley, sold the business to Sarah and Randy Chow about three years ago, but remains involved in the company that has been serving locals for more than 75 years.

The business makes its donuts and croissants on the premises and is also known for a quality cup of coffee and sandwiches.

Heltsley says she loves Richmond, mainly its residents and the weather. She enjoys dining at nearby Portumex restaurant, 721 23rd St., and also shops frequently at Smart & Final in San Pablo and Raley’s.
