The city of Richmond is encouraging the community to attend the first event of Diversity Celebration Month, which will be the 2nd Annual Family Day at Marina Park on Sunday.

The event, which will include music, entertainment and family activities, will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the park located at the corner of Regatta Boulevard and Melville Square.

The event is presented by Richmond Rainbow Pride.

Last week, Richmond declared June as Diversity Celebration Month. Events to celebrate diversity aside from Pride Family Day include Juneteenth at Nicholl Park on June 18, and the Native American Pow Wow, also June 18. To commemorate the month, the city is flying Richmond’s flag along with the Californian flag, American flag, the POW-MIA flag and LGBT pride flag, according to Mayor Tom Butt, who posted the photo of the flags above in social media.
