The city of Richmond is flying its Civic Center flags — including its Pride flag — at half-mast to honor the memories of the 50 people killed in a shooting at a gay Orlando nightclub early Sunday.

Mayor Tom Butt explained in a Facebook post Monday morning:

“This morning Richmond joins other communities across the nation flying our flags – including the Pride flag – at half mast in memory of those whose lives were lost in Orlando. We continue to stand with the LGBT community and countless families whose lives were impacted by the events that occurred early Sunday morning.”
