Get ready to party like a very healthy rock star.

This Saturday, the Richmond Main Street Initiative (RMSI) is holding one of it’s fun and free downtown celebrations: the Healthy Village Festival.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., a family-friendly festival and one-stop resource center for health and wellness will be held at the Community Green Space park at Harbour Way and Macdonald Avenue and the 900 block block of Macdonald.

Activities include a produce giveaway, cooking demonstrations, vendors, info booths, Zumba breaks, pony rides, and arts and crafts activities, according to RMSI, a community-based nonprofit tasked with revitalizing Richmond’s downtown.

Fresh fruit from the Freshest Cargo truck will be available for purchase, and Rich City Rides will host a Bike Zone for repairs and other services. Members of the Richmond Fire Department will attend the festival from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Admission is free. The festival’s sponsors include Kaiser Permanente and the City of Richmond, with generous support from Fresh Approach.
