With help from Marina Bay Park, Craneway Pavilion, the SS Red Oak Victory and Riggers Loft Wine Company, the Richmond waterfront is increasingly becoming the place to be — especially for Independence Day celebrations.

For the benefit of our readers, we’ve compiled a number of events occurring Sunday, July 3 and Monday, July 4 along Richmond’s historic waterfront:

Marina Bay Park: Fireworks, food, and fun. Richmond’s family-friendly community celebration at the park at Marina Bay Parkway and Regatta Boulevard runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will include a DJ and a youth play area (for a fee). Stick around to enjoy the night sky exploding with color during a 20-minute-long fireworks display at about 9:15  p.m.

Craneway Pavilion: This annual family-friendly celebration includes a performance by the Oakland Symphony at 8 p.m. and a performance by the Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra at 6:30 p.m. The Symphony will also play along to the fireworks display at 9:15 p.m. The event is free and seating is on a first come, first serve basis. Food and beverage concessions will be available throughout the event. For more information, go here. Here’s a taste of the experience from a previous event:

SS Red Oak Victory: The historic ship is hosting two days of Independence Day celebrations. On July 3, attendees will dine on the ship, experience a flyby after dinner by a rare P-51H Mustang, have an opportunity to explore the decks and visit the nearby Riggers Loft Wine Company. At 9:15 p.m., of course, guests will then be treated to a pretty sweet view of the fireworks show. Cost is $45 and reservations are required. See the flyer below for contact info.

On July 4, the ship will open again to passengers, but mainly for the opportunity to view the fireworks shows from around the Bay Area. Cost is $10 and reservations are not needed.

Riggers Loft Wine Company: The new waterfront winery has planned a fantastic event on its own in its winery and tasting room. Included is live entertainment from Kelly Park Quintet, hour of wine tasting from 6-7pm, five specialty food trucks, wine from four Riggers Loft wineries and one cidery, a video truck for kids with 20 different video games and scavenger hunt for kids aboard the SS Red Oak Victory. And, of course, a fantastic view of the fireworks show. Tickets are $45 for adults and $25 for 20 and under. Available online here: http://bit.ly/1OeOOvU
