A new and improved Shields-Reid Park will host some fun activities over the next few months.

We already told you about the park’s scheduled reopening celebration this Saturday that will run in conjunction with the annual Community Awareness Day event. The whole community is welcome to attend the free event and enjoy food, games, music, fun activities, prizes and more. For more information, here’s our preview of the celebration.

And we just received word that next month — on Saturday, July 16 — Shields-Reid Park will again host the 7th Annual North Richmond Music Festival, from noon to 6 p.m. The event includes both live music and activities for children, with free lunch from noon to 3 p.m.

The park is located at 1410 Kelsey St.
