The Richmond community is invited to take part in Family Chest Nights this summer at the Richmond Recreation Complex at 3230 Macdonald Ave.

Family Chess Nights are free and co-sponsored by the West Coast Chess Alliance and the Richmond Recreation Department.

They will run from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on July 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th and August 5th and 12th.

Officials describe Family Chess Night as  “both mentally stimulating and fun.” They also said playing chess regularly can improve test scores, enhance mental discipline, stimulate creative and critical thinking and develops problem-solving skills.

Beginners are welcome to Family Chess Nights. For more information contact  TC Ball (510) 439-6311  info@thewcca.com.
