The 15th Annual Point Richmond Summer Music Festival returns with its second of five free summer concerts on Friday, July 8.

The show begins at 5:30 p.m. with a performance by the New Orleans-flavored MJ’s Brass Boppers Brass Band. A sample of their music here:

The second and final act is Zydeco Flames, performing at 6:45 p.m. The well-known band has perfected the Zyedeco African-American dance music that was born in southern Louisiana. They’ve been performing regionally for years. Below is a fan perspective video from a Zydeco Flames show last year:

The Point Richmond Music free summer concerts occur at the corner of Park Place and Washington Avenue. They feature arts and crafts booths, face-painting, opportunity drawings, dancing in the streets and plenty of food options.
