The Netflix series starring Selena Gomez that is being filmed in Vallejo and nearby communities will need extras to appear in pep rally and basketball gymnasium scenes.

Filming for “Thirteen Reasons Why” will take place Monday, July 11, at a Vallejo gym that has yet to be announced. We will update you in a future post with the exact location.

High school and junior high students from ages 12 and over are encouraged to come out with their parents and participate.

While there is no pay for the event, there will be raffle prizes, including 100 signed copies of the book that created the series, two bicycles and two free nights at the San Rafael Sheraton. Movie posters and t-shirts will also be handed out.

Best part: Jay Asher, author of Thirteen Reasons Why, will be   onsite    to    autograph    your    copy    of the book.

The movie and book tell the story of Hannah Baker, a high school student who commits suicide and leaves behind 13 tapes as her suicide note. Clay Jensen, the boy who loved her but couldn’t tell her, received the tapes and sets out to understand her tragic choice.
