The folks who want to open a Salvadoran restaurant on 23rd Street in Richmond say they will paint a mural on the exterior wall of their new building and agreed to plant three trees.
La Bahia Restaurant is poised to open at 23rd Street and Lowell Avenue after receiving unanimous approval from the Richmond Planning commission last week.
One of the owners of the business told the Planning Commission the aim of the business is to “serve cultural foods, offer employment and serve our community.”
That all sounded good to the Commission, which garnered support from the business to plant three trees in available space along the sidewalk on Lowell Avenue. The owner said there are also plans to paint a mural on the exterior wall of the business on Lowell.
As of the Planning Commission vote, the business had not proposed selling alcohol.
