The folks behind an upcoming Netflix original series called “Thirteen Reasons Why,” which is filming in and around San Rafael, Sabastopol and Vallejo and will star famous singer Selena Gomez, are inviting our readers to one of two open casting calls.

An open casting for paid stand-ins and extras in the series will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday at Sebastapol Center for the Arts, 282 S. High St.

Another open casting call will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, at 1175 Railroad Ave Building 1310 in Vallejo.

The series, based on the award-winning young adult novel by Jay Asher, tells the story of Hannah Baker, a high school student who commits suicide and leaves behind 13 tapes as her suicide note. It’s also about Clay Jensen, the boy who loved her, who receives the 13 tapes and sets out to understand why Hannah made her tragic choice, according to a statement from Glorioso Casting, LLC.

The filmmakers are looking for extras and stand-ins for SAG & non-union paid positions. All ages, types and ethnicities are encouraged to attend, and you only need to attend one of the casting calls. You will vie for such roles as high school students, basketball players, cheerleaders, parents, teachers and coffee shop patrons.

Talent under age 18 should seek a California Entertainment Work Permit by clicking here.

Attendees may bring non-returnable photo, but two photos will be taken at the call.

Glorioso Casting wants attendees to “dress casual and come as you usually look!”

Those unable to attend should register for free at:
