This coming Tuesday, the FoodMaxx Supermarket at 13220 San Pablo Ave. will host one of the two sites for Fruit and Veggie Fest 2016.

The annual event, which runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., is sponsored by Contra Costa Health Services, which partners with local markets in an effort to promote healthy eating habits.

A second site for this partnership will be located at Mi Pueblo Food Center in Pittsburg during the same hours.

Both sites will offer food and physical activity demonstrations, prizes and giveaways, kids activities and community resources.

“Through Fruit and Veggie Fest in-store activities, shoppers can learn how to incorporate a rainbow of colors into meals and snacks with the addition of delicious produce,” according to CCHS. “Food demonstrations will highlight easy to make meals from the Champions for Change campaign.”
