Drone captures Pogo Park’s impact on Iron Triangle

Caltrans staff recommends $6.2 million grant for 'Yellow Brick Road' project in Iron Triangle

One way to see the big impact that the nonprofit Pogo Park has had on the Iron Triangle neighborhood is via a drone camera.

A brief YouTube video posted last week is viewed from a drone rising above Elm Playlot,720 Elm Ave., which opened in summer 2014 and has been a hit among local families.

Deploying its team of employees who are all Iron Triangle residents, Pogo Park built the formerly underutilized space as a way to provide safe, fun and active play spaces for the neighborhood’s children. The nonprofit has built or helped build other Richmond parks, often from scratch. They also construct their own play structures and park amenities.

The drone footage, in our view, shows how much the park has brightened up the area. See for yourself below.
