Contra Costa College to host 'Super Saturday' for prospective students

Community members interested in learning about what life is like as a Contra Costa College student are encouraged to visit the campus gym on Saturday.

The school’s fourth annual Super Saturday aims to provide community members with an opportunity to seek guidance from current students, staff and faculty.

Representatives of academic programs such as culinary arts, computer and related electronics, and public safety will answer questions about required courses and career opportunities. Students will also be guided on choosing a major and financial aid and will have the option to take a tour of the campus.

Super Saturday is free, open to the public, and takes place from 8 a.m. to noon at Contra Costa College’s gymnasium, 2600 Mission Bell Drive in San Pablo.

“Super Saturday is for anyone who is thinking about what’s next in their lives,” college President Mojdeh Mehdizadeh said in a statement. “Whether you’re a new high school graduate, looking to change careers or simply want to increase your current job skills, Contra Costa College offers affordable, high-quality education in a supportive setting.”

Mehdizadeh also touted the school’s three new modern buildings set to open this coming fall, which will house space for classrooms, student activities, study and dining. She credited the community’s support for bond measures that built the modern structures.
