The closure of two lanes on westbound Interstate Highway 580 Tuesday morning may have disrupted traffic a bit, but the temporary commercial enforcement checkpoint worked to take this unsafe truck and its unlicensed driver off of the highway.

The commercial enforcement operation on I-580 at Cutting Boulevard lasted until 10:30 a.m. The Richmond Police Department published these photos on its Twitter account.

“We ended up impounding and citing the truck for unsafe load and unlicensed driver,” Lt. Felix Tan said.

Police worked in conjunction with the code enforcement unit at the checkpoint. They cited 11 commercial trucks, towed 2, Tan said. The checkpoints are now done weekly, he added.
