Heads up, lettuce lovers! The Richmond Main Street Initiative’s (RMSI) Farmers’ Market is reopening May 4 for the Spring-Summer-Fall season.

A grand re-opening event will be held Wednesday, May 4, at the site of the farmers’ market at 13th Street and Nevin Avenue.

From May 4 through Nov. 9, the RMSI will hold its farmers market every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

California farmers will be selling fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, gourmet goodies and more. The grand re-opening will also include live music and other fun activities.

The RMSI Farmers’ Market will provide another option for locals to obtain fresh groceries in an area that has a dearth of grocery store options. Recently, the Pacific Coast Farmers’ Market Association (PCFMA) announced its farmers’ market at San Pablo City Hall will not return this Spring.

San Pablo residents still have two options in nearby Richmond: not just the RMSI farmers’ market but also the year-round Richmond Certified Farmers’ Market at 24th Street and Barrett Avenue, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Friday.
